Senator Julian Francis has returned to St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The government senator was flown to Barbados after suffering a stroke on July 24.

He was treated at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital before being flown to Barbados for further neurological care.

Deputy Prime Minister Montgomery Daniel said Senator Francis returned to the state on Tuesday August 9.

“We welcome him back to St Vincent,” Minister Daniel said on NBC Radio on Wednesday.

Francis is the General Secretary of the ruling Unity Labour Party and Minister of Urban Development, Airports and Seaport Development and Local Government.

As a result of his illness, he was physically absent from the party’s 25th National Convention which was held on July 31.

He however viewed the event online and was able to make a call to the convention.
