Harley Skerritt lashes first ton

Harley Skerritt has lashed the first century for the 2012 national Cricket season.{{more}}

The enigmatic left hander blasted 151, to lead Team Rivals to 303 for 4 declared last weekend against ASCO at the Arnos Vale Two Playing in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division.

It was Skerritt’s second successive big score, after hitting 98 the previous weekend, having made a return to the top division.

Aiding in the carnage were Ronald Jeffrey who made 53 and Marvin Small who struck 34.

ASCO was routed for 103 in their first innings. Desron Maloney was the top scorer with 41. Bowling for Team Rivals, Deighton Butler grabbed 4 for 15 and Olanzo Jackson 3 for 31.

Batting a second time, ASCO crumbled for 58. Asif Hooper 4 for 8 and Deighton Butler 3 for 9, accounted for the bulk of the wickets, as Team Rivals won by an innings and 142 runs.

Team Rivals now has two in two and leads the pack with maximum points, having attained two innings wins.

Also in the winner’s column was Saints, who inflicted a 78 run defeat on OLA Boutique Radcliffe at Arnos Vale One.

Saints made 103. Dyke Cato bagged 6 for 33, bowling for Radcliffe.

At their turn at the crease, Radcliffe was dismissed for 45. Romario Bibby was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 26 and Kentish Phillips snared 4 for 1.

Batting a second time, Saints posted 159, led by 87 from Devane Warner. Dyke Cato took 4 for 30 and Dellorn Johnson had 3 for 29.

Radcliffe surrendered their second innings at 138 all out. Dellorn Johnson struck 39 and Drumo Toney scored 36. Ray Charles led Saints’ bowling attack with 6 for 43 and Romario Bibby had 3 for 39.

At the Stubbs Playing Field, Police Two tipped the News Spartan on first innings.

Spartans, on the back of 48 from Dawnley Joseph, 42 from Nixon Mc Lean and Gidron Pope’s 33, reached 235. Elmore Alexander 3 for 54 and Rolando Wright 63, were Police Two’s most successful bowlers.

In response, Police Two scored 237. Elron Lewis compiled 62, Salvan Browne struck 56 and Danny Alleyne hit 35. Teron Simon took 3 for 72, bowling for Spartans.

Batting a second time, Spartans reached 98 for 4.

FIRST DIVISION

In the lone First Division match played, Victors Two chalked up their second consecutive win, this time over LOG Masters.

Playing at the Buccament Playing Field, Victors Two batted first and made 203 for 7 declared. Nicholas Baptiste scored 52; Kishore Shallow hit 40, Damal Phillips 38 and Javed Harry 35.

Jimmy Sam with 4 for 46, was LOG s Masters most successful bowler.

LOG Masters were shot out for a mere 22 runs. Javon Samuel bagged 6 for 16 and Javed Harry had 3 for 4.

Batting a second time, LOG Masters scored 65. Damal Phillips picked up 5 for 8, as Victors Two romped to an innings and 116 runs victory. (RT)
