SOL reintroduces low Sulphur Diesel at retail stations

Petroleum company Sol has announced the availability of Low Sulphur Diesel at most of its service stations at a retail price of $11 per gallon.

A release from Sol says the fuel is now available because Government recently removed the import duty on the importation of Low Sulphur Diesel, which is sourced extra-regionally, mainly from the USA, thereby bringing the price in line with High Sulphur Diesel.

“Low Sulphur Diesel is a superior product to High Sulphur Diesel. Lower Sulphur content benefits the environment and engine technology as it significantly reduces particulate emissions. This reduces maintenance costs due to better engine performance and less filter change, which leads to improve fuel efficiency. Most Caribbean nations have already switched to this fuel,” the release said.
