Gov’t hoping for Buccama Resort restart by December

The government is hoping that the Buccama Bay Resort can open by December but has called for all parties involved to work diligently towards this happening.

“From discussions I would be very disappointed if Buccama is not opened by December. Now is time for all of us to work together but I think we can make it”, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves told a gathering at a press conference at Cabinet Room on Thursday June 14.

Gonsalves said that the trustees and the government are working together with the party that wants the resort and the idea is for 100 rooms to open and build on that.

He said also that the hotel stock is being strengthened with hotels and villas planned for Mt Wynne and Peter’s Hope, an investment of over US$115 million.
