John, in a release, said the company, whose other owners are her husband and a friend of hers, aspires to bring exceptional customer service and quality fabrics.
âWe hope to establish close relationships with designers and also individuals who want to feel a sense of true African pride by wearing these magnificent African print fabrics. Kitambaa Fabrics was named by my Ugandan mother, who resides in St Vincent and the Grenadines. Kitambaa is a Ugandan word which in English translates to mean fabric,â John said.
October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and in keeping with the objectives of LOVNSVG, Kitambaa Fabrics will donate a percentage of its sales during that month, John said.
âWe will also be starting our pre-Christmas sale approximately two months prior to Christmas so that everyone can receive their fabrics or their custom made tailored designs in time.â
The companyâs website (www.kitambaafabrics.com) will be launched today, Friday, September 9. Prospective customers are urged to visit the site and enter their email addresses to receive a 10 per cent discount code for their first purchase.
The company, whose slogan is âKitambaa Fabrics create your Africa!â may also be found on Facebook at Kitambaa Fabrics and on Instragram and Pintrest as Kitambaafabrics.
