Digicel welcomes new country manager

After two years at the helm of Digicel St Vincent and the Grenadines, John Gidharry is departing the local market, having been reassigned within the Digicel Group.

Effective Monday, September 5, British national John Davies was officially introduced as the new country manager for Digicel SVG.{{more}}

Davies, who has over 28 years’ experience in telecoms, joined Digicel in January 2015, where he functioned as head of Sales and Services at Digicel Caymans.

John Davies brings a wealth of knowledge to Digicel SVG, specifically on the commercial side of the business, with vast experience in retail, retention and marketing.

Davies said he looks forward to a great time in SVG and pledged his commitment to ensuring the continued growth and development of Digicel SVG. The new country manager lauded his predecessor John Gidharry for a job well done in St Vincent and the Grenadines, specifically as it relates to putting the business on a very sound footing and ensuring that key relationships were established and maintained.

Meanwhile, Gidharry said while he is saddened to be departing the Digicel SVG market, he is comforted in the fact that he was able to achieve all that he was tasked with here.

Additionally, Gidharry said he will forever remember the warmth and hospitable nature of all the people he met and interacted with while here. He specifically commended the local Digicel team for their support over the past two years and urged them to extend the same courtesies and support to the new country manager. Gidharry also thanked all Digicel customers for their trust and loyalty to the Digicel brand, explaining that great things are in the pipeline that will result in enhanced customer experience.

In welcoming the new country manager to SVG, the Digicel staff recounted some of the fun memories functioning under the stewardship of Gidharry, describing him as an exceptional individual and a remarkable team leader.
