Digicel celebrates week of Champions!

Last Friday, Digicel gave persons a lot to cheer about as they paraded, during a motorcade in Kingstown, captain of the winning West Indies T20 cricket team Darren Sammy and local Under-19 West Indies T20 champions Gidron Pope and Obed McCoy.

Marketing Manager at Digicel Danielle Cupid said that Digicel, in their continued efforts to keep customers excited and celebrate the historic West Indies trifecta,{{more}} held a week-long celebration, which ran from April 4 to April 8.

According to Cupid, on Monday April 4, Digicel customers enjoyed triple credit when they topped up $15 or more; while on Tuesday, April 5, postpaid customers were urged to pay their bills in full, and as a result get three days free calls. The following Wednesday and Thursday, Digicel offered customers a “double data deal” when they activated a two day or seven day social data plan.

“On Friday April 8th, Digicel concluded the week of celebrations with an extraordinary day of activities. Starting with cash giveaways on several radio stations, credit giveaways all day long on X-treme Radio, happy hours where customers wearing anything Digicel branded won credit on the spot were just a few of the activities that day,” said Cupid.

She added, “The grand finale came when captain of the 2016 T20 West Indies champion team Darren Sammy alongside local under-19 champions Gidron Pope and Obed McCoy appeared in the Digicel Flagship store on Halifax Street and surprised customers.”

The athletes gave autographs and took photos.

After the store session, the cricketers paid a visit to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves at Cabinet Room, and Sammy, in his style, took a moment to teach Dr Gonsalves the “Champion Dance”.

“Sammy, alongside the Digicel team, paraded around Kingstown on a motorcade celebrating with the citizens of St Vincent and the Grenadines, and doing the Champion Dance.
