ASP Glenford Gregg calls it a day, after 34 years of service

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Glenford Gregg spent the last day on the job last Friday, November 27, 2015, before proceeding on pre-retirement leave.

ASP Gregg was the officer in charge of the Process Department of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and was also responsible for case files at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).{{more}}

ASP Gregg spent several years in the court as a prosecutor, with his last stint being at the Magistrate’s Court.

A gathering of Gazetted Officers extended congratulations to him and encouraged him to celebrate his retirement after spending 34 years in the Police Force. Commissioner of Police Michael Charles, Superintendent of Police Elton Jackson, and Assistant Superintendents of Police Sydney James and Anthony Humphrey are the remaining officers who joined the organization with ASP Gregg on February 28, 1981.

The officers reminisced on their time at the Police Training School. This was followed by a toast to ASP Gregg.

ASP Gregg was presented with a plaque by Commissioner Charles and a gift compliments Singer, French Verandah and Young Island Resort.

ASP Gregg used the opportunity to thank his colleagues for their kind wishes.

He said his journey in the Police Force was a rough, but rewarding one. He said he based his policing career on the scripture, ‘Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not to thy own understanding, but in all thy words acknowledge him and he will direct thy path’. He further stated that earlier in his career he wanted to go overseas, but is thankful that he stayed.

He also expressed thanks to the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
