I never knew 12-year-old to be violent – Principal
The principal of the primary school attended by the 12-year-old child who has been charged with the murder of 15-year-old Moesha Primus says she never encountered any problems with the pupil.
âSince I have known her, she is a quiet child, an introvert; not rude or disrespectful in any way. I have never known her to be violent, I have never known her to be that person. {{more}}She always tried to do her work. Her mother is also a quiet person and her siblings are quiet as well,â revealed the head teacher.
However a parent of one of the girlâs friends said the 12-year-old had a violent streak that went unnoticed by her guardians and teachers because of her quiet disposition when in the presence of authority figures.
Lisa Williams of Lowmans Leeward, who lives on the lower floor of the home occupied by the family of Moesha, said that earlier this month, she filed a complaint about the 12-year-old girl at the school she attends.
On Monday, speaking from her home in Lowmans, Williams alleges âI went down there and spoke to one of the teachers and the teacher took her out of the class immediately and talked to her,â recalled Williams.
However, Williams said the matter did not go further than the complaint and the pupil was not disciplined for the alleged incident.
Williams said after the incident, she was surprised by a message on Facebook, sent to her by the 12-year-old.
âAfter the incident, the little girl met me on Facebook; they had a meeting for grade six at the school, so she meet me on Facebook telling me âWhy you didnât make a complain to my mother when you saw her by the meeting? See if you would have get any satisfaction.ââOn Facebook she write that,â revealed Williams, who said that she blocked the girl from seeing her Facebook profile after receiving the troublesome words.
Williams also revealed that she had sent to call the childâs mother to discuss an incident involving her daughter.
Williams added that following the Facebook comment, she met the 12-year-old in the street and told her that since her mother would not give her closure over the Facebook incident, she would complain to the head teacher of the primary school, something she said she never did.
âAnd the same little boy that was with her when she did the stabbing was with her and told her âyou do well to stand up and listen to sheâ,â recalls Williams.
Williams said that she feels extremely distraught over the killing, as all the children involved were friends at one time.
But on Monday, principal of the primary school said that none of the incidents mentioned by Williams were reported to her.
âI donât know about none of that, she never came to me. I was never informed.
The head teacher added that the killing traumatized students at the school on Friday, June 19 when they learnt about it.
âThe children were traumatized, the teachers were broken. I was very broken. The students could not do exams on Friday, so they were sent home early; some were crying,â said the head teacher.
15-year-old Moesha Primus was killed by a single stab wound to her heart in the public road at Lowmans Leeward at around 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 18.
Reports are that Moesha, a student of the Intermediate High School (IHS) became involved in an argument with her 12-year-old friend over a piece of clothing. The argument escalated and when the dust cleared, the older girl was dead.
On Monday, the younger girl, who had been in police custody since last Thursday, appeared before the Family Court, where she was charged with murder. The minor, who was represented by Samantha Robertson, Israel Bruce and Mikhail Charles, was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
The date for the preliminary inquiry has been set for September 11, 2015. She has been remanded in police custody.
