The event is, for the first time, being hosted by the Rotary Club of St Vincent and Youth Service director of the local Rotary Club Joe Sheridan says, the event, dubbed, “the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards” is an annual event held worldwide by Rotary International under its Youth Service programme.

“Every year, these youth seminars are held in different countries to promote the concept of service in young persons,” said Sheridan, stressing that the conference is dedicated to teaching leadership skills, as the young persons who are chosen to attend have been identified as being willing to lead others in humanitarian service, “in many different fields.”

The conference will include four separate presentations on leadership on topics like the fundamentals of leadership, building self-esteem and confidence, conflict management, problem solving and the qualities of a servant leader. Presenters include Shafia London-Williams.
