Catholic schools receive printer from Mustique Charitable Trust
Two Catholic Schools in St Vincent and the Grenadines are the newest recipients of a donation from the Mustique Charitable Trust (MCT).
Yesterday, the organization donated a Xerox Series 7225 WorkCentre printer and finisher for the use of the St Maryâs Roman Catholic School{{more}} and the St Martinâs Secondary School. The printer has the ability to collate and staple printed documents in one working cycle.
Administrator of the MCT Lavinia Gunn noted that the printer, which cost EC$18,236, will address the needs for printed material in both schools.
âMost importantly, it will enable the teachers to reduce time taken on printing educational material needed for class work and at examination times,â Gunn said.
âThe Mustique Charitable Trust hopes that this grant will have a meaningful impact on the quality of education being delivered. Our main focus is to give meaningful assistance to improve opportunities for children, young people and vulnerable adults. We see support to education as essential in fulfilling this mission.â
In her brief remarks, the administrator took the opportunity to express gratitude to the UK friends of the Mustique Charitable Trust, who contributed the funds for the donation. Gunn also thanked Express Data Systems for ordering the printer, installing it and providing training for its use.
At the short handing over ceremony, the principals of both institutions expressed their thanks to the MCT for the timely and much needed donation.
âIt is going to ease one of our burdens and it is also going help us to work with more speed, because it would help us to spend much time looking for places to get text and our materials to give copies to our children,â Eula Johnny, the St Maryâs RC head teacher said.
Principal of the St Martinâs Secondary School Wendell Edwards declared that the MCT was one of the leading organizations as it relates to nation building in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
âI want to go a bit beyond there because we all have realized that the Mustique Charitable Trust has really been assisting St Vincent and the Grenadines in so many ventures. Not too long ago, when we were refurbishing our library, I remember that we had a ceremony and it was the Mustique Charitable Trust that was one of the leading supporters, financiers in that project,â he said.
Express Data representative Roger Clifton pledged his support to the schools and revealed that he will be working along with the MCT to defray any additional costs for the printer, which include providing maintenance and supplies.(BK)
