Man shot by police after messy attack

Kingstown resident, Joe Bobb, is now nursing a gunshot wound to his left leg, after it is alleged that he attempted to throw faeces at police officers.

At about 12:20 p.m., yesterday, police officers from the Criminal Investigations Department went to Paul’s Avenue in search of Bobb and found Bobb under a flight of steps,{{more}} when it is alleged that the act was committed.

SEARCHLIGHT arrived at the scene in time to see the man wincing in pain and residents of the area placing shirts over their noses as a barrier against the odour of faeces.

“I ain’t throw no sh*t. I just sh*t me pants,” Bobb said, as he was being assisted off the ground by police officers wearing latex gloves.

He was placed in the back of a police pickup truck and driven away.

This is not the first time that Bobb has been involved in a messy incident.

On August 29, 2011, Bobb was at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court to answer theft and robbery charges when he asked to used the washroom.

While in the washroom, Bobb requested a piece of tissue paper from an officer, who was standing guard. Upon the officer’s return, Bobb attempted to throw faeces at the officer, who then closed the door to protect himself, leaving the prisoner inside the washroom.

The prisoner then climbed through a small window and made good on his escape, not before leaving the washroom in a messy state.
