Courts donates laptop to Island Scholar

Eight years from now, Lletta Lewis hopes to have the title “Doctor” associated with her name.

The current situation however, is that the 18-year-old national scholar is pondering whether she should pursue her studies in bio-medical science in Jamaica or Canada.{{more}}

Lewis, the daughter of Courts Customer Service representative Ingrid Lewis, said that she knows for sure that the laptop computer she received from Courts St Vincent Ltd, would help her in her studies wherever she goes.

Lewis received the laptop from Courts on Wednesday, in recognition of her outstanding performance at CAPE, which earned her a national scholarship earlier last month.

Commercial manager of Courts Lisa Veira said that the entire Courts family is very proud of Lewis, whom most of the team watched grow up before their eyes.

Veira described the soft-spoken former Girls’ High School and St Vincent Community College student as a studious, grounded and self-motivated individual and like her teachers and family members, Veira was not surprised when the youngster was named a national scholar.

She congratulated Lewis for her achievement, and urged her to continue to excel as she pursues her goals.

Human Resources manager Natalie Burgin presented the laptop to Lewis, who said she was extremely grateful for the gesture.

She also thanked her parents, teachers and family for their support and said she looked forward to beginning her studies.

Lewis was one of 11 national scholars named this year.
