Last week Monday, the home for children, located at Buccament, was given $5,000 to go towards enclosing the compound, which would enable the residents to plant fruits and vegetables on the land surrounding the home.
The presentation was made by Basil Alexander, Scotiabankâs country Manager, and Noelene Dickson, the bankâs relationship officer.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the home was Major Pierre Antoine of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Salvation Army.
Antoine thanked the bank for the contribution, expressing gratitude for the continued assistance that the children at the home have been receiving.
The initiative was done under the Scotiabank Bright Future Programme, which aims to unite all of the bankâs charitable efforts under one umbrella, in order to have a stronger impact on the financial institutionâs desire to help children.
The Bright Future Programme is the foundation of Scotiabankâs philanthropic efforts and incorporates both corporate giving and employee volunteerism.
âOur goal is to give hope to youth by supporting education, arts and culture, and the environment, as well as by helping the underprivileged and abused. Scotiabankâs community involvement programmes are an important element of Scotiabank Groupâs commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility,â the bank says of its Bright Future Programme.
