Students, along with other persons, took the time during their lunch break to listen the word of God.

The rally saw welcome remarks being done by Reverend Stephen Ollivierre and brief remarks given by Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace and Minister of Ecclesiastic Affairs Maxwell Charles.

A scripture reading was done by Jonique McCloud of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School and a musical interlude was done by Saeed Bowman of the Sugar Mill Academy.

Bishop Juliette Campbell prayed for repentance and thanksgiving, while Reverend Kelron Harry delivered a sermon.

Minister of Ecclesiastic Affairs Maxwell Charles said he felt heartened that the nation believes in the power of prayer. Charles pointed out that some countries in the world would have a problem to host such an event, but he is happy that such is not the case in St Vincent and the Grenadines. The Minister further expressed his belief that if ever a season of prayer is needed in this country, it is at this point in its history. Charles cautioned the youth in particular to remember God above all else and to be guided by Him in all that they do.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Girlyn Miguel, who offered remarks on behalf of the Prime Minister, told the gathering that prayer is not anything new. Miguel pointed to the example of Abraham who prayed to God to spare his city if five righteous persons could be found at that time. She said that the righteous in St Vincent and the Grenadines need to stand up if this country is to be saved from ravages of disasters and pestilence. The Minister added that she is happy that the government of St Vincent and the Grenadines realizes that our land needs to be healed. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister also spoke out against the way some females dress. She reminded the young ladies that their bodies are the temple of God and they must adorn themselves as such.

Meanwhile, Reverend Kelron Harry delivered a stirring sermonette at the ceremony. Pastor Harry said the nation is in the state that it is in because the people need to repent.

Pastor Harry also encouraged the youth to remember God so that they can have a good heritage.

Intercessory prayers were done by Reverend Aaron Browne, who prayed for national unity and reconciliation; Pastor Colin Smith prayed for the economy; Reverend Chiefton Charles for the schools; Evangelist Lennox Dennie prayed for the judiciary; Reverend Noel Clarke prayed for the youth of the nation; Pastor Richards for the health sector; Apostle Paul Kirby prayed for the media; Reverend Wade Carter prayed for the churches; Pastor Terrance Haynes for the families; and Reverend Stephen Ollivierre prayed for protection in the hurricane season.
