On Tuesday at the Rich View Apartments, Fidel Caesar, Coordinator for the MRA, handed over a quantity of dental supplies to Dr Heather Hepburn-Williams, dentist in charge of the Buccament dental clinic.

Excited about the donation, Hepburn-Williams explained that the donation is a timely gesture because of the demand for supplies at the clinic.

“At this point and time these supplies come when there is great need,” she said.

“The clinic I serve spans from Lowmans Leeward to Barrouallie, a wide geographic area and many persons flock to the clinic daily and there are many instances where we do not have enough supplies to attend to these persons,” Dr Hepburn-Williams added.

The supplies include gauze, saliva ejectors, cotton pellets, plastic dips and dental needles, and were acquired from the Hope for a Healthier Humanity organization from New York, USA, according to Caesar.

He explained that a team of dental practitioners from the organization recently visited the island and were involved in voluntary work and “what we have here are some of the supplies left back from their visit.”

The Medical Relief Association is a non-profit organization, formed here in 1991 and has as its objective improving health and medical care in St Vincent and the Grenadines.(AA)
