LIME announces slash in phone rates again

Telecommunications company LIME announced on Wednesday that it has lowered the rates for calls from LIME landlines to mobile phones for the second time in less than a year. Additionally, the company said it is making it easier for new customers to access the Internet “via its excellent broadband service”.{{more}}

As of April 14, LIME’s landline customers will pay $0.66 per minute (VAT inclusive) for calls to any mobile phone at any time of the day or night. This single charge replaces the day time rate of $0.70 and the evening and weekend rate of $0.68 per minute. The new charge also represents a further reduction in LIME’s landline to mobile calling rate which was cut by more than 14% last year.

General Manager Angus Steele said: “We are really pleased to be able to reduce our rates further and to offer lower calling rates and help to make things easier for consumers in these challenging times. This is after we have previously reduced fixed and mobile rates as a result of a reduction of the Mobile Termination rates in May and October. Our mission to add value and make a difference to our customers’ lives is also evident in the way we are making it affordable today for everyone to access the internet. We have an excellent offer in the market where customers can sign up for our Triple Treat offer where you get Broadband, Fixed Line and Cheap Chat Unlimited Fixed To Fixed Calling services for a low price of $99.”

“LIME’s landline service continues to provide consumers with an affordable means of communication and with these new low rates our customers will be getting even more value for their telecoms spend,” he added.

LIME’s new, lower rates for calls from landlines to mobile phones will be rolled out in all the countries governed by the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL). As a result LIME’s landline customers in St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, St. Lucia and Grenada will also benefit from a reduction in call charges.
