Eleven-year-olds, Michael Harry of Bequia and Wenique Edwards of Collins, were the lucky recipients of full scholarships when the presentation took place on Friday, July 30, at the BUNPAN Kingstown office. They both received $1,050, while another 104 students received goodwill gifts of $75 each.
Harry’s scholarship was a special one. The decision was taken to award a student from Bequia as part of the Society’s 50th anniversary celebrations. He will attend the St. Vincent Grammar School while Edwards will attend the Girls’ High School.
Since the initiation of its scholarship programme in 1985, 32 persons have benefited.
The Customer Appreciation Day was part of the activities to mark its 50th Anniversary.
