Elreka Gaymes is Miss SVG 2026
Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) 2026 Elreka Gaymes is expected to reign for a year and will be striving to show strength, kindness, resilience, humility, and above all, the power of believing in God and the effectiveness of prayer.
Gaymes, a Glebe Hill, Barrouallie resident, took the stage at Independence Park last Saturday, May 30, and by the time the 2026 Miss SVG Pageant concluded in the wee hours of Sunday, May 31, her performance allowed her to proudly take the coveted crown to Central Leeward.
The 2026 pageant was scheduled for 2025 but was cancelled because of the general elections, and Gaymes said there were moments when she did not want to go through with it but her support team helped her snap out of the mindset.
“I feel very happy about it. It was an incredible journey, bitter-sweet for some moments but it was good.
“It was bitter-sweet because I had moments when I was overwhelmed, frustrated to some extent, moments when I felt like I didn’t want to push through or continue, but with a great support team, I was bound to finish the race I started,” Gaymes told SEARCHLIGHT in an interview.
She said though the pageant was postponed she did not stop her training nor relaxed her diet.
