Two Georgetown men face separate charges of theft of animals

Two men from Georgetown have been slapped with separate charges of theft of animals.

The police said in a release that 65 year old Francis Sutherland, a mechanic was arrested on November 23 and charged with the theft of a black and white cattle valued at EC$4,000.00, the property of a 56 year old extension officer of Park Hill.

The alleged theft is said to have occurred between November 18 and 20.

Sutherland was expected to appear in the Kingstown Magistrate Court to answer the charge.

In the second incident a 22 year old labourer of Georgetown was charged with the theft of one black and white ewe goat valued at EC$700.00 Keron Prince was arrested by police on November 23 and charged with the offense of theft.

The police said according to the investigations, Prince allegedly stole the female goat between 10:00 a.m and 11:00 on November 23 at Georgetown.

The animal is said to belong to a 48 year old farmer of Georgetown.

Prince was also expected to appear in the Kingstown Magistrate Court to answer the charge.
