Nola V. Parsons of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 20, 2011.  Nola was born in Mesopotamia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines; she enjoyed cooking for family and friends and loved her times with her children and grandchildren.  Her love for others was evident because of her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a devout member of the Marriaqua Methodist Church Women’s League.

Nola is survived by her sons, Curtis and Pernel; daughters:  Marva, Jenny, Debbie and Onika; sisters, Dorothy Callender and her husband Dennis, and Joyce Gilbert; Mr. Calvert (Richie) Richardson of Richland Park; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews, including Gideon and Keith Gilbert in St. Vincent; and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011, in Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark. DE  19702 from 11am- 1pm followed by a service in celebration of Nola’s life at 1pm. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park. To express an online condolence, visit www.stranofeeley.com.
