FBI to visit SVG says Leacock
PERSONNEL ATTACHED TO the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are expected to be in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) soon according to Minister of National Security St Claire Leacock.
Speaking in parliament on August 27, 2026 Leacock, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Disaster Management and Immigration outlined a series of measures to modernise and strengthen the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), including a one-year strategic crime reduction plan, expanded use of intelligence-led policing, and a stronger focus on illegal firearms.
“The FBI will be here just now to assist us,” Leacock told members of parliament, while noting that the use of drones for surveillance is being looked at, and officers are receiving drone training abroad.
He also mentioned to House of Assembly, that the RSVGPF is developing a comprehensive plan that will set clear priorities, responsibilities, and measurable objectives targeting homicides, firearm offences, robberies, organised criminal activity, and other serious crimes.
