Athletes position themselves for selection at National Juvenile Championships

The championships consisted of a Pentathlon (five events) for the Under-13s, and a Heptathlon (seven events) for the Under-15s.

In the Pentathlon, the girls did the 60m, 800m, long jump, high jump and ball throw, while the boys did the 60m, 1000m, long jump, high jump and ball throw.

The Girls Heptathlon included the 80m, 1000m, 60m hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot putt and ball throw, while boys, did the 80m, 1200m, 80m hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot putt and ball throw.

Emerging tops in the Girls Under-13 was Naailah Stevenson of the IT- DAT Academy, who amassed 1939 points. Second place was Skai Cain of the X-Cel Track Club with 1863 points, and third was Teanna Scott also of XCel Track Club on 1858 points.

In the Boys’ category, Christian Duncan of High Performance was the winner with 2580 points, ahead of Mustangs’ Dorian Louie with 2535 points and Tyler Hercules of Biomechanics who amassed 2462 points, placing third.

Ariel Stephens of High Performance, who scored 3078, was the Girls Under-15 champion, with Onesia Moore from X-Cel in second place, with 2916 points. Placing third was IT-DAT Academy’s J-Nae Farrell, who amassed 2802 points.

The Boys Under-15 title was secured by Kingroy Hepburn of High Performance, who scored 4727 points, ahead of X-Cel’s Rohan Lett, who scored 4091 points. Ethan Kent of the St Vincent Grammar School, with 4087 points, was third.

St Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to field an eight-member team, four in the Under-13 and four in the Under-15, to the NACAC Age Group Championships in Nicaragua, in June, 2025.
