Questelles Government School celebrates legacy of retired Principal

THE Questelles Government School community is celebrating the legacy of its beloved principal Donnette Abbott-Ferdinand, who officially entered retirement on August 30, 2026.

Abbott-Ferdinand’s retirement follows a challenging period for the institution, concluding a remarkable 39-year journey of dedicated service to education in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

Her final chapter of leadership at the school was heavily marked by the events of December 29, 2025, when a devastating afternoon fire gutted a critical block of the school. The blaze destroyed the school’s auditorium, the kitchen, and classroom spaces for Grades 3 and 4, forcing the relocation of older students to the Campden Park Community Centre.
