Ministry of Education releases CSEC after completion of review

THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION and National Reconciliation has released the updated preliminary results for the May–June 2026 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations, revealing that while St. Vincent and the Grenadines achieved a commendable 78.63% overall subject pass rate driven by remarkable school turnarounds, the nation faces a severe academic crisis with almost two out of every three students failing Mathematics.
The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) officially hosted its regional ceremony to release the preliminary May–June 2026 examination results on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Anguilla. While individual candidates across the region could immediately check their personal grades online via the student portal, local educational stakeholders in St. Vincent and the Grenadines experienced a noticeable administrative delay in accessing their complete national report.
The Ministry of Education had to temporarily halt the public release of its institutional data due to grade reporting discrepancies identified across two specific subject disciplines at two local secondary schools. However, following a thorough review of the results, St. Vincent’s fully updated preliminary school-by-school metrics were officially processed and cleared for public release on September 8, 2026, roughly three weeks after the initial regional announcements.
The results revealed that out of 1,996 registered candidates across 28 secondary schools, SVG achieved an overall subject pass rate of 78.63%, an achievement anchored by seven institutions that secured percentage pass rates of 80% or higher—led by St. Vincent Girls’ High School at 97.39 per cent, and the St. Vincent Grammar School at 96.75 per cent.
