Outa Trouble overcomes New Level in TBPO softball cricket

Country Meet Town Outa Trouble, defending champions of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation 20/20 softball cricket competition got past New Level by eight runs last Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field.

Reduced to 15 overs because of a late start, Outa Trouble reached 91 for 6 from their allotment. Mickel Mapp scored 30, Javid Harry, 23 and Davian Barnum, 22.

Felix Baptiste was the most successful, taking 3 for 23.

New Level got to 83 for 6 from 15 overs. Courtney Joyette, 27 not out.

Sunil James grabbed 3 for 23, bowling for Outa Trouble.

Before them, One Team beat Coreas Distribution by six wickets.

Coreas Distribution scored 68 all out from 14.2 overs. Antonio Gerald scored 21.

Kelique Peters had 4 for 11 and Suneal Pompey, 3 for 16, for One Team, who responded with 74 for 4 from 9.2 overs.

Nelio Thomas, with 2 for 1 and Keyon Gaymes, 2 for 26, were Coreas Distribution’s most successful bowlers.

Sunday’s matches resulted in wins for CGM Gallagher Novice, Bruce Law Chambers Smashers and Curtis King Stallionz.

Novice defeated Dr Thomas Injectors by six wickets.

Injectors scored 125 for 6 from their 20 overs, Ozande Baptiste making 34, Wendell Corridon, 29 and Keroy Roberts, 25.

Norlan Williams had 2 for 24 and Renrick Williams, 2 for 37, bowling for Novice.

In response, Novice- scored 126 for 4 from 16. 3 overs. Darren Henry hit 55 and Elton Williams, 43.

Then, Smashers registered an 18-run win over Sion Hill Tallawahs.

Smashers scored 145 for 7 from their 20 overs. Keno Matthews hit 36 and Kenford Collins, 29.

Bowling for Tallawahs, Omarie Sutherland had 2 for 33.

Tallawahs, in reply, made 127 for 6 from their 20 overs. Shanley Lavia scored 44 not out.

Tallawahs’ innings was undermined by St Clair Dickson’s 2 for 18 and Glendon James’ 2 for 21.

And, Stallionz had a six-wicket win over Computec Older Boys, in a 15-over affair, occasioned by a late start.

Batting first, Older Boys made 73 for 6 from their 15 overs, as Raji Questelles copped 2 for 16.

Stallionz’ reply was 77 for 4 from 7.5 overs. Terrance Patterson scored 25 and Raji Quettelles, 20 not out.
