Cammie Adams sprints off 2014 in style

Cammie Adams opened up the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union road racing calendar with a win, as he trumped the Sion Hill Sprint, last Saturday afternoon.{{more}}

Adams raced up from Kingstown to the Sion Hill intersection ahead of the field in 6 minutes 0.40 seconds, to continue where he left off in 2013. Second was Zefal Bailey in 6 minutes 0.99 seconds.

The versatile Deptor Culzac rode in third in 6 minutes 31.09 seconds, as he closed off the top three finishers in the 40 years and under category.

For those over the age of 40 years, Peter Durrant backed his skills with his mouth, as he topped his peers. The ever chirpy Durrant won in a time of 6 minutes 05.46 seconds.

Orel George had to settle for second in 6 minutes 57.60 seconds, with the improving Martin Bollers claiming the third place in 7 minutes 20.23 seconds.

The next race on the SVGCU’s calendar is the Round About to Ratho Mill race carded for Sunday February 2.

This race spans 28 miles, with cyclists circuiting the route seven times. (RT)
