Biabou softball cricket competition reaches quarter-finals stage

The quarter finalists in the Biabou T-20 Softball Cricket Competition have been decided.{{more}}

Emerging from Zone A are defending champions, Clinchers, with 13 points, Gairy Construction Simple Boys, with 11 points; Young Strikers finished the preliminary round with 8 points and Bank of SVG All Stars were on 7 points.

Zone B sees Shot Gun XI coming out on top with 12 points. South Rivers Wings nosed ahead of Dr Thomas Injectors to take the second spot, as both ended with 9 points and Ravers was fourth with 7 points.

The match-up this weekend at the Biabou Playing Field pits Clinchers against Ravers; Simple Boys face Dr Thomas Injectors, Young Strikers meet South Rivers Wings and Shot Gun XI take on Bank of SVG All Stars.

In the last of the preliminary round matches played on Sunday, South Rivers Wings ousted last year’s losing finalist Glen United by four wickets.

Glen made 112 for 8 from their 20 overs. Ron Adams hit 54. Casroy Cuffy 2 for 16 and Orland Wilkinson 2 for 15 were South Rivers’ most successful bowlers.

South Rivers responded with 113 for 6. Romano Warren hit 20. Winston Bascombe had 2 for 41, bowling for Glen. (RT)
