Rain wrecks local Cricket fixtures

The national Cricket competition was severely affected by the persistent rains on Sunday.{{more}}

In the Women’s Division, United Survivors beat North Leeward by eight wickets on Saturday at Arnos Vale One.

North Leeward batted first and posted 85, with Mischa George the topscorer with 26. Samantha Lynch took 4 for 9, West Indies player and the 2010 Sports Personality of the Year, Cordel Jack, grabbed 3 for 13, and Rosetta Williams chipped in with 2 for 18. Jack then scored 39 not out to pilot her team to 86 for 2.

United Survivors’ planned meeting with Tigress on Sunday did not materialize because of unfavourable weather conditions.

In the Bottlers First Division, the two scheduled matches finished in no decision, after the second day, Sunday, was rained out.

Moses Douglas Radcliffe Two scored 296. Michael St. Hillaire topscored with 26. Augustus Mofford took 4 for 24 and Adolphus Campbell, 5 for 28, bowling for Robertson Surveying Belmont United, which was 70 for 4 at the close of day one.

Pastures United was bowled out for 86. Log Enterprises Masters was 3 for no loss.

And, in the RBTT Premier Division, the News Spartans earned easy points from Packers United.

The result meant that Packers United will be relegated to the First Division for the 2011 competition.
