Rural Carnivals set the stage for VincyMas 2026
The weekend of June 5-7, 2026, saw the warming up for VincyMas, The Great Escape, as rural carnivals in North Leeward, South Leeward and East St. George took centre stage.
The premier highlights of the East St. George Carnival celebrations were the Soca Monarch and Calypso competitions.
Moustafa ‘Tapha’ Jackson, with his high-energy performance, was on Friday, June, 5, 2026 crowned the new Soca King as the East St. George Rural Carnival celebrations culminated in that coastal town last weekend.
Tapha, no stranger to the stage, having entered the Ragga and Soca Monarch competitions on several occasions, has artiste and performance in his lineage.
The son of the late Dennis “Honeyboy Bells” Jackson, and brother of Ragga Soca Monarch winner 2018 Fimba Jackson, Tapha, like his dad and brother, is a regular performer.
