Doctor under investigation for allegedly striking cop with a vehicle

Prominent Consultant Urologist and Urologic Surgeon, Dr. Rohan DeShong, who pleaded guilty on one traffic violation count, and not guilty to two other charges of traffic violation, is currently under investigation for striking a police officer with a vehicle.

Dr. DeShong appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Colin John, on June 10, 2026 where he maintained not guilty pleas on charges of: being the driver of PD178 did drive the vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public; and failing to remain stationary on April 30, 2026 at Frenches Public Road.

DeShong however pled guilty to the charge of failing to comply with the ‘no entry’ road sign.

The matters were adjourned to June 29, 2026 and will be heard at the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court.

Dr. Deshong, who is being represented by lawyer Jomo Thomas, is alleged to have struck Corporal 889 Kenveil Huggins on his left shoulder with his vehicle causing him to spin, then drove off.
