Soca, Ragga Soca artistes to light up Carnival City in Saturday Semi-finals
The 22 artistes who will vie for a spot in the Big Bad Soca Monarch finals on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Carnival City, have been announced and, following a correction being made to the first published Soca Monarch and Ragga Soca Monarch Semi-Final qualifiers list, all is now set with the finalists already selecting their order of performances.
Reportedly, following a review the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) said, “an entry was found to have been placed in the incorrect category,” the matter was corrected, and the official listings updated and circulated.
The Soca and Ragga semi-finals “Bacchanal Bay Cooler Beach Party” will be staged on the Tarmac of the decomissioned E.T Joshua Airport at Arnos Vale on Sunday, June,14, 2026 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
No stranger to Ragga or Soca finals, Claydon Roache & Elrico Hunte who go by the stage name Dymez x Dapixel, will take to the stage with ‘Do the most’. Former Miss SVG contestant, turned Soca artiste, Shannan John ‘Kelly J’, will perform ‘When we reach’; Lornette Yoland Nedd ‘Fya Empress’ is not only in Calypso, she is also into Ragga and Soca, and is going to “ Mash it up and done”.
