James leads Radcliffe to full points

Linden James led from in front to engineer OLA Boutique Radcliffe to an emphatic innings and 53 runs triumph over Packers United, to put themselves in a good position to make another charge for the retention of the RBTT Premier Division title of the national Cricket Competition.{{more}}

James hit 103, as Radcliffe posted 294 for 6 declared, in response to Packers’ 114. Supporting James were Drumo Toney, 51, Andy Harper 45, and Wayne Harper, 33. Devon Charles took 2 for 68.

Mc Neil Morgan scored 37 in Packers’ first innings, as Dyke Cato took a hat trick, 3 for 33, and Toney picked up 2 for 17.

Asked to follow on, Packers made 127, with Kemar Williams making 37. Cato bagged 5 for 29 and Andy Harper, 4 for 35.

Also in that division, MVC Rivals whipped Police One by nine wickets.

Rivals’ first innings of 178 saw Deighton Butler top scoring with 46, and Hyron Shallow, 36. Gerald Gould took 3 for 23, Vertil Davis, 3 for 47, and Brenslee Bobb, 2 for 30.

Police One in reply was shot out for 27. Kesrick Williams, 3 for 5, and Olanzo Jackson, 3 for 11, did the wrecking.

Asked to follow on, Police One fared better as they made 189. Gould hit 48 and Larry Edwards, 35, as Butler took 3 for 39 and Jackson, 2 for 45.

Rivals reached the winning target of 41 for the loss of one wicket.

Bottlers First Division

Combined Youth defeated Neil Williams Academy by seven wickets. Devane Warner scored 37, in the Academy’s total of 98. Romario Bibby took 5 for 16, Oneil Endeavour, 2 for 20, and Marlon Farrell, 2 for 24.

Combined Youths then responded with 145. Endeavour struck 47, as Joelano Neil snared 7 for 30.

The Academy’ s second innings stopped at 66, undone by Malden Scrubb’s 3 for 17, Endeavour ‘s 2 for 10 and Jawanza Young’s 2 for 14. Combined Youths reached 23 for 3 to get maximum points.

And, Smashers gained first innings from Rivals Two.

Smashers, on the back of 98 not out from Zenroy Lee reached 208. Jemarl Daniel bagged 5 for 62 and Imron Smith, 4 for 48.

Rivals Two replied with 134. Hanell Neptune made 48, as Marvin Harry copped

4 for 28, Justin Lee 2 for 17, and Courtney Joyette, 2 for 29.

Smashers were 108 for 2, at the close. Ronald Scott was 47 not out and Raydon Bentick made 40. (RT)
