The Vee Jay’s staff family

Thirty Years of Service

Ianthe John is the longest serving member of the Vee Jay’s family. Some will say her navel string was buried at Vee Jay’s. Her greatest pleasure is interacting with customers; as a matter of fact, one of Ianthe’s favourite memories is when a customer removed his dentures, wrapped them in tissue paper so that he could enjoy his meal, and madam Ianthe took them and thew them in the garbage. Well, we don’t have to say who went garbage hunting for the customer’s teeth. For Ianthe, Vee Jay’s is not just a job, it is family. It is her wish to see more items added to the daily menu.

Twenty-five Years of Service

Erina Thompson has been with Vee Jay’s for 21 years; she enjoys cooking and cleaning; her interaction with management is good and she loves the staff get-togethers and staff parties.

Zillah Maloney, an independent young lady, joined the staff in April of 1992. She says working at Vee Jay’s has allowed her to achieve her goals. She loves meeting and interacting with customers. Zillah says, like everywhere else, they have their challenges, but she could not ask for a better manager. One of most memorable moments is when she worked at Roof Top; she says those were exciting times. She would like her co-workers to be more responsible.

Twenty Years of Service

On June 7, 1994 Rose-Marie Thomas became a member of the Vee Jay’s family. She always wanted to work in the restaurant business because she loves to cook. She is a team player and loves the hustle. When all the hustling is done, the staff get to relax and share jokes. Rose-Marie would like to see more items added to the menu, hence bringing more customers to the restaurant.

Fifteen Years of Service

Patricia Barbour is a quiet, easygoing young lady who walked into the doors of Vee Jay’s in September 2002. She enjoys serving customers and meeting new ones. Her relationship with management and staff is very good. Patricia looks forward to the staff picnics and it is her wish that Vee Jay’s will continue to provide good customer service and cooperation among staff.

Pamela King joined the Vee Jay’s family some 17 years ago, catering for customers. Even with the challenges from time to time, Pamela enjoys her work environment. She remembers her daughter taking part in the famous karaoke sessions held at the Rooftop Bar and Restaurant at the tender age of eight. It is Pamela’s wish to see Vee Jay’s expand the business to cater for more customers, whilst giving employees more freedom to move around and improve customer service.

Ten Years of Service

Joy Duncan Roberts came to Vee Jay’s in July 2002. Joy enjoys interacting with customers, making sure that the customers are satisfied with their service. Joy says the atmosphere at Vee Jay’s is one of respect and the staff look out for each other. She says working at Vee Jay’s is like a family, even though there are ups and downs from time to time, it is still a pleasure being part of the Vee Jay’s family.

Joanne Campbell has been with Vee Jay’s for over 15 years, starting as Nifesha’s babysitter. She is the only employee who works at the Richardson home during the day and at the restaurant at night. She loves working by herself. She is pleasant and looks forward to company get-togethers.

Joslyn Ferrari joined the staff at Vee Jay’s in 2007. She enjoys making roti, interacting with customers and staff. She looks forward to the Vee Jay’s staff picnic and would like to see Vee Jay’s spread their wings to the people in the Grenadines, starting with Bequia.

Supplying Fish for over 30 yeas

Ormond Johnson has been with the Vee Jay’s family since the days of the late Veronica John, to this very day, supplying fish for over 30 years. He is reliable and efficient. As we celebrate this milestone, we would like to show our appreciation for the years of service to the restaurant. Thank you, Mr Johnson, from the Vee Jay’s family.
