Lodge Village mother faces two-year jail time for theft

A Lodge Village mother of three, who is well known at several Massy Stores as a thief, may face up to two years in prison after she was caught again, stealing $200 worth of items from one of the supermarkets.

Camille Archibald, 42, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate, Tammika McKenzie on May 8, 2025 where she pleaded guilty that on May 6, 2025, at Massy Stores, Kingstown, she stole 16 bottles of salted peanuts valued EC$176.00; five blue bar laundry soaps valued EC$8.00; 2.25lbs of mature sweet potatoes valued EC$11.81; and 0.82lbs of mature tannias valued EC$54.51, a total value EC$200.32, the property of Massy Stores, Kingstown.

The court heard that Kennisha Porter is a loss and prevention officer at Massy Store, Kingstown. She does not know Archibald.

Porter is also responsible for supervising and monitoring the CCTV camera at the store. Archibald is known to all the loss and prevention officers at Massy Stores because she was previously caught stealing items from the store.

On the date in question, at about 12:09 p.m, Porter was in the monitoring room watching the CCTV camera live feeds when she recognized Archibald walking into the supermarket.

Porter noticed that Archibald took a silver trolley and was moving around the store with it. Archibald picked up the named items and placed them in the trolley.

She went to cashier desk #2 and took out the snacks which she paid for. She then walked past the cashier with the trolley without paying for the other items which were at the bottom of the trolley.

Porter informed the other workers at the exit door of her observation and asked them to stop Archibald, which they did. Porter approached Archibald, who was then outside the supermarket, and identified herself as the loss prevention officer for Massy Stores.
