Pantastic Music Academy gets donation from Tropical Shipping
A YOUTH development pan programme hosted by veteran pannist, Kingsley ‘Hero’ Roberts received an injection of US$1,000 from Tropical Shipping for its programme conducted over the Easter school break.
The shipping agency said in a release that its financial contribution to “Hero’s Pantastic Music Academy” is in support of its continued commitment to music education and youth development in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
The presentation was made at the culmination of the Academy’s Kids Easter Programme, an initiative that engages children in music, creativity, and cultural enrichment during the Easter break.
Hero’s Pantastic Music Academy, founded by the veteran pan arranger and musical director is a steel pan music school in SVG. The agency’s release added that Hero’s more than 40 years of experience in steel pan music which he brings to the academy, is making it a significant institution for nurturing musical talent in SVG.
Launched in 2020, the academy focuses on teaching steel pan from early childhood through adulthood, offering both practical and theoretical instruction. It operates in approximately 11 early childhood centers and schools across the country, integrating music education into their curricula.
“Hero’s Pantastic Music Academy continues to play a vital role in nurturing young talent and preserving the cultural heritage of steel pan music in St Vincent and the Grenadines and the Caribbean,” Tropical Shipping noted, adding that the agency “remains committed to investing in the communities we serve.”
