Through the use of the Universal Service Fund (USF), the library received five Information and Communications technology (ICT) books on the topic of software application.

At the handing over, USF administrator Kyron Duncan said the books are not only geared towards software application, but also software programming. He further mentioned that they will assist in capacity building and training and develop local information content and applications.

Duncan noted that the USF will soon be tendering a project where persons will be trained in areas which include application and software development.

“These books will aid the students in doing courses and in turn, help to expand the reach of the library’s knowledge base,” Duncan said.

Michelle King, Director of the Archives and Documentation Centre at the library said she was pleased to receive the donation of books from the NTRC.

Thanks to the contribution, King said, more computer materials are available and it will offer persons a wider selection to choose from.

“We appreciate your efforts and thank you all again for your contribution.”(KW)
