Parliamentary Representative for Central Leeward Maxwell Charles handed over the letters to the residents on Tuesday.

He said he was pleased to distribute the letters to the residents.

“I feel extremely elated, extremely proud to be a part of it.” He pointed out that the initiative began months ago with Sir Louis Straker and he is just continuing the process.

Charles noted that the Unity Labour Party Government is one that loves people and loves to see that people are empowered. He added that the ULP Government loves to turn dead property into live property and that is indeed a policy of the government.

Charles said it his duty to ensure that his constituents get lands so that they can obtain deeds to conduct business. He said that there are terms and conditions that apply with the properties noting that the properties must only be utilized for residential purposes and should there be failure to comply with this, the agreement will be terminated.

He congratulated the residents and urged them to be good neighbours and let their community be a model one in Central Leeward.

Residents who received letters expressed gratitude to the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines for providing them with the plots.

The plots of lands vary from 3,000 to 4,000 square feet and are being sold to the residents at 50 cents per square foot.(API)
