Election machinery in high gear

As the Vincentian electorate prepares to go to the polls in general elections on Thursday, November 27, 2025, the wheels involved in the electoral process have begun to pick up pace.

The Electoral Office, as legally mandated, has caused to be published in the press today, October 31, 2025, the Writs of Nomination. Yesterday, Thursday October 30, 2025 the special registration period began, it runs until November, 13, 2025.

“ In Layou we told you that we working and you must be on your marks. In Calliaqua we told you that you must own the future and be on your marks. Tonight, Labour is stronger and the ‘Comrade’ will tell you something tonight,” Prime Minister and Leader of the Unity Labour Party (ULP) Dr. Ralph Gonsalves teased the exuberant crowd on Tuesday night, October 28,2025 on the grounds of the Richmond Hill Playing Field as he briefly called on a first group of ULP candidates to individually greet the crowd.

General elections will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Candidates for the two main political parties will contest in all of the 15 seats at stake.

Dr. Gonsavles told the crowd at the rally that earlier that day, he had held a conversation with the Governor-General, Dame Susan Dougan.

“Her Excellency has accepted our Prime Minister’s advice and has issued the necessary instrument, the Proclamation to be published of the dissolution of Parliament as of tonight,” he told the raucous crowd at the ‘Labour Strong’ rally.
