Twin brothers do it for North Windward Youths

Twin brothers Sealroy and Sealron Williams were in form with ball and bat respectively, as new entrants to the National Lotteries Authority First Division North Windward Youths got off to a winning start last Sunday at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field.

Sealroy bagged 5/35 and Kurtney Pompey had 4/40 to orchestrate Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors’ dismissal for 200 from 36.1 overs.

Unique Warriors’ lead batsmen were William Edwards, who scored 45, with Isaac Haywood making 26 and Christopher Campbell – 25. North Windward Youths aided Unique Warriors’ total, conceding 26 extras.

Then the other half of the Williams twins, Sealron, slammed 7 fours and 6 sixes, in a 75-ball knock of 94. His innings, along with that of Owen Lorraine – 34 not out and Dilworth Thomas – 28, saw North Windward Youths over the line at 202/4 from 29 overs.

Isaac Haywood – 2/22 and Brent Ollivierre – 2/32 were the main wicket takers for Unique Warriors.

Also trumping were Belfongo, who defeated Combined Youths by four runs at Buccament.

Belfongo batted first and compiled 164 all out in 24.1 overs; Andre Hunte with 27, Vernado Primus – 23 and Travis Cumberbatch – 21, as well as 28 extras, propped up Belfongo’s total.

For Combined Youths, Kevin Samuel picked off 3/12, and there were two wickets apiece for Romando Mars and Donte Hinson at a cost of 18 and 38 runs, respectively.

In response, Combined Youths fell short, stopped at 160/9 from their 30 overs, despite Franke Farrell’s effort of 74.

Doing the restricting job for Belfongo with the ball were Vernado Primus – 3/41, Dean Browne – 2/23 and Andre Hunte – 2/29.

Three matches are scheduled for this Sunday. At Arnos Vale Two, Smashers play Belfongo in a Group A fixture, with Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO against Strike Eagles at Park Hill, also in Group A.

And, at Buccament, Unique Warriors entertain Police One.(RT)
