Speaking at the handing over ceremony, which took place August 31 at the conference room of the Carnival Development Corporation at Victoria Park, representative of the Mustique Charitable Trust Lavinia Gunn stated, âThe purpose of the Mustique Charitable Trust is to help people and young people in vulnerable communities in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) improve life and overcome challenges and this project (Kick It Programme) does all of that.â
Through the Kick It Programme, several areas have been targetted throughout SVG to have players merged with the current crop of footballers who make up the Special Olympics team, so as to solidify the unified efforts.
The areas cited to carry out the Kick It Programme are Kingstown, Mesopotamia, Biabou, Georgetown, Barrouallie and Chateaubelair on the mainland, as well as Bequia and Canouan, in the Grenadines.(RT)
