But they must first win an off the field appeal lodged by Middlesex, if they are to take a shot at the double.
Cavaliers, last Saturday, punctured the aspirations of Imperial when the two contested the 40-over final at Marine Park C.
In an all-Vincy affair, Imperial found themselves in the finals, after winning a protest against Middlesex for the use of an ineligible player in the semi-final.
Imperial won the toss, but sent Cavaliers to bat, a decision which backfired, as Cavaliers powered up 300 for 5 from 35 overs.
Former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windward Islands, and USA left-handed batsman Albert Tesheira cultured 11 fours and a pair of sixes in his innings of 90.
He was supported by Ashley Marshâs 74, which contained seven fours and a six and current St Vincent and the Grenadines player Dawnley Grant, who laced 59. Grant stroked five fours and two sixes.
Bowling for Imperial, Hyron Shallow had figures of 3 for 24.
But Imperial was shot out for 79 in response, making it a lopsided affair.
Responsible for Imperialâs demise were Dinesh Ruplall, who had 2 for 19 and Shaquille Allick â 2 for 25, ensuring Cavaliers won emphatically by 221 runs.
In the process, Cavaliers lifted their first piece of silverware since 2005.
After their huge victory, Cavaliers returned on Sunday for the Twenty/20 semi-finals against Middlesex.
Choosing to bat, Middlesex posted 145 for 2 from 20 overs. Mark Audainâs 81 included eight fours and two sixes and Alston Bacchus â 31.
Cavaliers were 100 for 3 from 13 overs, when rain stopped play. Shaquille Allick slammed eight fours in a top score of 52 and Dawnley Grant 22.
Cavaliersâ appearance in the Twenty/20 final hinges on a ruling by the BCL as Middlesex had launched an appeal over the use of Grant in the semi-finals.(RT)
