Police, Shot Callers advance to softball Quarter-finals

RSVG Police and Vinlec Shot Callers advanced to the Quarter final stage of the competition, both with convincing wins, over their opponent.
The law officers prescribed the correct antidote for Dr. Thomas Injectors. Police, led by a topscore of 33 from Javon Patrick and 15 from Rolando Wright, reached 120. Winston Snagg, 3 for 12, was Injectorsâ best bowler.
Injectors, though, succumbed under the bowling of Darren Williams, 3 for 12, and there were two wickets apiece for Renford Jack and Wright, and folded for 89. Michael Stoddard was Injectorsâ main contributor with the bat. He made 17.
Also advancing to the next phase was Shot Callers, at the expense of Older Boys.
Shot Callers responding to Older Boysâ 89 for 8, in their 20 overs, reached 92 for 4.Terrance Patterson 18, and 16 each from Fitz Patrick Da Souza and Chris King, crafted Shot Callersâ victory, and a berth into the quarter finals.
This weekend promises to be another occasion for no half measures, as only the best would count.
From 1:30 pm on Saturday, Novice plays Street Fighters, to be followed by the clash between Vipers and Owia Shottaz from 3:15.
More action is planned for the Dauphine Playing Field on Sunday, starting at 9:am, when Pine Hill Nice Radio Clinchers takes on Kingstown Hill United.
Then from noon, Cool Guys meets Nex Level. The weekend is capped off with Simple Boys facing ASCO.
The next two teams in line for a crack at the top prize, Gomea Bombers and Nar Fren Dem, meet December 1.
The competition, barring any interruptions, is set to conclude December 9. (RT)
