Vincentian in Northern Ireland to read Nanton’s poem for BBC

Vincentian Yolande Robertson-Greene from Prospect, whom is reading a MSc. in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Queen’s University, Belfast, has been selected by BBC Radio Scotland for an upcoming poetry feature.{{more}}

The BBC Poetry Project “The Written World” features an iconic poem being read from a member of the Diaspora in the United Kingdom, which has his/her country competing in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Dr Christopher Stange of the Consulate of St Vincent and the Grenadines in Northern Ireland welcomed this exciting opportunity and partnership with the BBC, facilitating the process and ensuring Vincentian representation on the programme.

Through the Scottish Poetry Library, Robertson-Greene will provide an introduction and her memories of St Vincent and the Grenadines, followed by reading an untitled piece by fellow Vincentian, Philip Nanton, world renowned poet and short story writer, to be recorded next week at BBC studios in Belfast.
