Vincentians Jason DaSilva and Shamir Francois were part of the five-person winning team which walked away with a US$1,500 cash prize as well as US$500 for winning the best case analysis category in the 5th annual CIBC First Caribbean International Bank Case Analysis Competition.

This is the second consecutive year that Cave Hill is winning the trophy.

The competition, which was hosted by the St Augustine campus on June 1, saw defending Champions Cave Hill going up against the UWI Mona campus, UWI St Augustine and the University of Technology from Jamaica.

Da Silva is a final year Management student, while Francois is a second year Accounting and Finance student. The students were selected by senior lecturers at Cave Hill to be part of the four-member panel, while a fifth student was selected to serve as a reserve team member.

The two other panel members were Imran Corbin and Janelle Turton, while Shae Lashley served as the reserve. They were accompanied by faculty advisors Dion Greenidge and Dr Nadini Persaud.

Shamir Francois was voted most spirited team member for his efforts in encouraging team work and for his dedication to the team.

Last year, Francois also won the award for ‘First Year Student of the Year’ from the Management Studies Department.
