The materials, valued at EC$1,000, were presented to the schools on Wednesday, March 23, at the Methodist Church Hall.
The donation of 25 copies of 500+practice Questions for CSEC Examinations: Information Technology comes at a time when the students of these schools are preparing to sit the CSEC Information Technology Examinations that are scheduled for May this year.
Guardsman SVG is in the process of securing additional copies for donation to all the schools represented at the workshop.
The presentation was made by Nyasha Browne, General Manager of Guardsman SVG, during the closing session of a Technology in Education workshop, attended by over 30 teachers and ministry of Education officials. The workshop facilitator Howard Campbell is the author of the books presented.
The programme was put on by the St. Vincent Teachersâ Cooperative Credit Union, in association with the Ministry of Education and Macmillan Caribbean.
The donation is expected to better equip the schools to prepare their students for sitting the upcoming CSEC Information Technology examinations. The regional pass rate in the January 2011 exams was 33 percent.
The books are available at SVCCU Supply outlet.
