At 7 a.m. on Monday. December 13th 2010, when polling stations around St. Vincent and the Grenadines open their doors, the electorate of this country will be casting their ballots for 43 candidates at 226 stations.{{more}}
The official statistics from the Electoral Office in Kingstown, which were released yesterday, Monday, indicate that the New Democratic Party (NDP) and the Unity Labour Party (ULP) will be fielding candidates in the 15 constituencies, while the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Green Party (SVGGP) will field two less than the others.
The Ivan OâNeal-led Green Party will not contest in the constituencies of North Central Windward and West St. George.
Their presence will, however, in some measure, be felt in the constituency of the Southern and Northern Grenadines, North, Central and South Leeward, East, West and Central Kingstown, East St. George, Marriaqua, along with North and South Central Windward.
Two of the constituencies: Central Kingstown and West St. George will have
18 polling divisions to accommodate voters, while the Southern Grenadines constituency will have seven divisions open for persons wishing to cast their ballots.
Polling stations will close at 5 pm on December 13, and the counting of votes will begin at that time, with the final count to take place on the Tuesday, December 14 at various police stations around the nation, beginning at 8 a.m.
