He beat Denesha Simmons from the Kingstown Multi-Purpose Centre into second with her number ‘My situation.’

Third place was shared between Camesha ‘Singing Mesha’ Hunter from St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua who did ‘Dem Good Old Days,’ and Renecia Louie from the Dr. J. P. Eustace Memorial who performed: “Welcome to my Homeland.”

Man Zangie is into his second year at the Junior Calypso level and also placed third in the Soca category. He attributed his performance in this aspect to help from his brother Kosinski ‘Busta Ski’ Adams, a finalist in Saturday’s Soca showdown.

“He wrote my song,” Man Zangie said. He modestly declared “ I think I can sing too.”

He also paid tribute to Corneisha Crooke, a former Junior Soca Monarch, who helped with his production.

Man Zangie plays tennis and volleyball, and admitted to his fondness for drama and poetry.

The other Secondary School Calypso finalists were Jolene ‘Princess Jolene’ Bentick from North Union who did ‘Serious times,’ Shazique ‘Princess Shaz’ John from Dr. J.P. Eustace Memorial: ‘Welcome to my Homeland,’ Veiron Nickie: Georgetown Secondary: ‘Congratulations,’ and last year’s Primary School winner Franeica Glasgow from Girls High School who did:’ ‘In my Dreams.’
