Vincy T&F clubs gain multiple medals at Whitsuntide Games, 2026
It was another good showing from St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) at the May 23 and 24, 2026 hosting of the Whitsuntide Games at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium in St George’s, Grenada.
This year though, 10 Track and Field clubs journeyed to the Games, thus making it the widest participation from St Vincent and the Grenadines.
After the two days of intense competition and regional exposure, Vincentian athletes mounted the podium as they extracted 14 gold medals.
The IT DAT Academy were the top performers with five top places.
Pouching gold for IT DAT Academy were their Under-13 Girls 4 x 100 meters relay team; Naaliah Stevenson who won the Under-13 Girls Long Jump; Jeremiah Wright, the gold medallist in the Under-17 Boys 1500-m; with Reine Browne taking the Women’s 400-m Hurdles title and Roy George scooping the Under-15 Boys 100-m.
Meanwhile, the Chatoyer Club, the St Vincent Grammar School and ROSES Academy, collected two gold medals apiece.
Kyle Lawrence was the first to cross the finish line in the 100-m Men’s Open/ International, and Joranny Welcome took the Under-17 Boys 400-m, to double Chatoyer’s taking.
The St Vincent Grammar School’s High Jump pair of Ethan Kent and Evonte Nimblett took gold in the Boys Under-15 and Under-17 vertical jumps competitions, respectively.
For ROSES Academy, their gold medals came from Umar Pierre, who won the Under-13 Boys High Jump and Samara Pierre, the Women’s 3000-m Open.
Team Mustangs Track Club, X-Ceed Sports Club, and High Performance, each had one gold to their takings.
For Team Mustangs, T’ Nyah Stapleton champed the Under-13 Girls 400-m, with Amaia Edwards taking gold for X- Ceed Sports Club in the Women’s High Jump, and Ariah Carter securing High Performance’s gold medal in the Under-15 Girls 400-m.
The other Vincentian teams that competed at the Whitsuntide Games were the X-Cel Track Club, Biomechanics, as well as the Georgetown Secondary School, who all medalled.
IT DAT Academy, with a tally of 13, topped the medals haul for SVG.
