Five matches decided in Masters Cricket at the weekend

Five matches were decided- one on Saturday, November 2, and four on Sunday, November 3, in the 2024 SVG Masters 20/20 Cricket Competition at the weekend.

Saturday’s lone match played at the Sion Hill Playing Field, saw North Leeward defeating Stroke Masters by 10 wickets.

Strokes Masters were routed for 22 from 17 overs, and North Leeward replied with 23 without loss in 2.1 overs.

At the Park Hill Playing Field on Sunday, North Windward overcame Park Hill by 10 wickets as well.

Park Hill reached 105 for 5 off 12 overs, as the match was reduced because of rain.

Ricaldo Thomas led with 52 not out, and Chris Adams, 31.

Brendon Child took 2 for 20 bowling for North Windward, whose response was 108 without loss, from just 6.1 overs, as Hanif Ollivierre blasted 83 not out.

Meanwhile, Davis Construction Bequia Masters had the better of GECCU Stanley Browne Stubbs by 93 runs, at the Stubbs Playing Field.

Bequia posted 172 for 6 off 20 overs. Sherlon Pompey, 53; Emburrne Toppin 38; and Gregory Thomas, 22 not out, were the main scorers.

Rickie Thomas snared 3 for 35, and Theophilus Wallace had 2 for 26, bowling for Stubbs.

However, the Stubbs batters did not handle the bowling well. Victor Williams, who captured 3 for 16; Ormond Billingy, 2 for 17; and Sherlon Pompey, 2 for 3, dismissed Stubbs for 79 from 11.1 overs.

Also, at the Stubbs Playing Field, RSVG Police Masters defeated Mustique Company by 10 wickets.

Bowling for RSVG Police, Hyron Shallow bagged 4 for 18, and Osrick James had 3 for 9.

Former St Vincent and the Grenadines batters, Salvan Browne, 44 not out; and Mc Leon Williams, 33 not out, took RSVG Police to 100 without loss from 9.1 overs.

There was more of a contest at the Sion Hill Playing Field, as Sion Hill edged out Hope Pastures by one run.

Sion Hill made 131 for 7 off 20 overs. Arrington Burgin, 35, and Ronald Medford 23, were the scorers of note.
